Questions & Answers on Round Above
Ground Swimming Pools

Above Ground pools are built on top of the ground.  The benefits of an above ground pool include affordability, quick installation and the ability to add or integrate with a deck.  However, there are drawbacks when you go with an aluminum or steel above ground pool.  These drawbacks include aesthetics that do not complement your yard, average durability, and difficulty when selling your house and/or moving the above ground pool to a new residence.  If you choose to go with a wooden above ground pool, you’ll achieve a more natural setting in your backyard, enhancing your resale value and simplifying the ability to transport the pool to a new residence.

Have a Question about Swimming Pools?  Call Crestwood at 607-786-0010

The answer to this question depends on how you’re going to be using your new pool.  If you have small children or if you see yourself using your pool for a recreational hangout area, then a round pool would suit you just fine.  However, if you enjoy using your pool for exercise, such as playing volleyball, water polo or swimming laps, then an oval swimming pool would be the optimal choice.  Lastly, the shape and size of your yard may also play a factor.  If you have a smaller, squarer backyard, the round pool would probably be your best choice, whereas the oval pool requires more yard space.

It’s not as much a question of the size of our 7 round above ground pools, or even our 3 oval above ground pools, rather it’s a question about the size of your yard or lot, as well as any unique characteristics of your property, such as hills, cement patios or wooden decks.  If you call Rich at 607-786-0010 with the dimensions of your property, he’ll use his 50+ years of experience to determine which pool sizes are best for you.  One more thing to consider is the size of your average swimming party.  Whether you have kids or plenty of friends, or both, you’ll want to take that into consideration when choosing a pool size so swimmers aren’t too crowded.

Depending on if you’re integrating your above ground pool with an existing deck, or if you’re planning on building a deck to wrap around your above ground pool, the price can fluctuate anywhere from $700 to over $20,000. As the age old saying goes, you get what you pay for. At Crestwood, our pools are always built to your standards, and ours. That is why we still have satisfied customers swimming in Crestwood Pools purchased in the 1980’s. Plus, our customers who have moved to a new home haven’t had as hard of a time selling their house with a high-quality wooden pool in the backyard. Another quantifiable benefit that customers rave about is how the wooden structure keeps the pool temperature warm, no matter the time of day or season.  We’ve converted several inground pool owners who had complained about the electrical bills to heat their pool.
